Some of the youngsters at the center of an alleged attempt to kidnap 103 African children and transport them to Europe may never be returned home because of confusion over their origins, an aid agency warned Friday.

Seventeen Europeans were in custody in Abeche, accused by the Chadian government of trying to kidnap the children and fly them out of the country. Chad arrested the group last week as they tried to put the children on a plane to Paris

If this is true, this is terrible. Not only for the children and parents involved, but for charities working to try to help people in Africa. There is going to be a tremendous amount of distrust from Africans after this.

Actually, this will be bad even if it isn't true. There are news reports of the charity workers being beaten. Not to mention the destroyed trust for charity workers.
